Uniforms and Equipment
Initially you just need some loose comfortable clothes to train in. Long pants and long sleeved tops are better than shorts and t-shirts. Once you have done a few classes and decided to continue the practice of Aikido, you will need to buy a Gi (uniform) to train in. These can be bought from most Martial Arts stores or on the internet and range in price from about NZ$70 to NZ$120.Eventually you will also need to buy your own Bokken (wooden sword) and your own Jo (wodden staff) for the weapons classes.
